Ram Charan has opened up about the intense physical demands of his upcoming film pediRevealing that the extreme physical transformations he has undergone have left a lasting impact on his body. He said the stress is still affecting his everyday life, including simple activities like raising his daughter.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the sports drama required the actor to transition between extremely different bodies, making the role one of his most physically challenging roles to date.

During a unique promotional campaign on the streets of Hyderabad with director Buchi Babu Sana, Ram opened up about the rigorous process behind his character development and the challenges of switching between extremely different body types.

Ram revealed that for this he had to undergo body transformation twice pedi.

He said, “For the torture you put me through to achieve all those body types, you first asked for a cricketer’s physique and then a wrestler’s physique. They both are extremely different. A cricketer is lean, like Tilak Verma or Hardik Pandya. You wanted that kind of body. Then, after a few days, he needed a bulky body to play Kabaddi. Then you asked me to make a wrestler’s body.”

Director Buchi Babu Sana revealed that he was initially hesitant in asking Ram Charan for such a drastic physical transformation. However, Ram responded by expressing that he deeply enjoyed the entire process, adding that fatigue never set in because he was doing work he really loved and the experience felt completely natural to him.

The actor also opened up about the physical impact of the changes that happened after the shooting ended. “Now that the shooting is over, the pain is emerging from everywhere,” he said.

Elaborating further, he said, “Even lifting my daughter causes pain in this hand. I need to get an X-ray done. Constant holding during wrestling causes vibration. This has some effect on this hand.”

Ram also revealed that the wrestlers featured in the film struggled to act due to their athletic instincts and would instinctively start wrestling as soon as the director called “action”. Despite this, the team managed to complete the shoot without any major injuries.

The actor concluded by reflecting on his history of on-set injuries throughout the films, noting that he broke his leg during RRRgot hurt during RangasthalamAnd his lip got cut during the shooting game changer.

He described it as a case of “God’s grace”, saying that, despite these previous incidents, Peddi turned out to be a smooth production, with not a single day of shooting being halted.
