Ram Charan opened up about becoming a father in an interview. The ‘RRR’ actor expressed his deep affection for his little daughter Klin Kara Konidela, admitting that he is ‘addicted’ to her. Ram Charan and his wife Upasana Konidela have completed 12 years of togetherness.

In an interview The Times of IndiaRam Charan recalls his first few months of becoming a father, calling it an emotional journey. Initially, he experienced a powerful mix of responsibility and the joy of welcoming a new life into the family.

Talking about his first Father’s Day celebration, the actor said, “During the first six months, I didn’t feel anything, except a sense of responsibility and the fact that a new member had joined us in the family. I was amazed to see the bond between a mother and child and I couldn’t replicate it. Then I spoke to a friend of mine who is also a senior parent, and she told me that it happens and it’s normal to feel like this and that she didn’t feel that kind of bond with her second child until about a year after he was born. Now that Klein is interacting with people and recognising them, he misses me when I’m not home, the whole game has changed. I feel lonely when I’m not around him, so I don’t feel like going out.”

Further, Ram was asked about his favourite activity with his daughter. He said, “I feed Clin at least twice a day, I love doing that. I also do my reading with her. Upasana (wife) is a wonderful parent, but when it comes to feeding her, no one can do it better than me. I can make her finish her entire meal, I don’t have any superpowers in that regard.”

Ram Charan further added that things have changed now as Klein is more interactive and recognises people. Klein misses him when he is away and he feels the same. He admits that he feels a sense of absence when they are apart, which makes him prefer to spend time at home, as he feels “left out” when he is not around his daughter.

Ram Charan and Upasana were together in college and later Ram Charan realized his love for Upasana. The two welcomed their first child, Klin Kara Konidela, in 2023.
