Rakshas OTT release: When and where to watch Vijay Raghavendra’s psychological crime thriller series online

Rakshas is an upcoming psychological crime thriller web series starring Vijay Raghavendra in the lead role. Directed by Suhan Prasad, the 7-episode show is set to stream online soon.

When and where to look for the monster

Rakshasa is scheduled to release on the streaming platform ZEE5 and will be available from February 20, 2026. The official update was shared by the makers on their social media handles.

Announcing the release, the team wrote, “North Karnataka’s first web series, Rakshas.”

Monster’s official trailer and plot

Rakshasa is the story of Sub-Inspector Hanamappa, a determined policeman who is involved in the investigation of a series of alleged crocodile attacks near the Yellamma temple in Savadatti. What initially appears to be an encounter with deadly animals soon turns out to be something much more sinister. As remains surface and panic spreads, folklore and deeply rooted beliefs begin to shape public perception, blurring the lines between superstition and reality.

As Hanmappa digs deeper, the case becomes entangled in a disturbing psychological maze where guilt, faith and fear become intertwined. Forced to confront not only the mystery behind the murders, but also the powerful beliefs surrounding them, he begins to question everything he thought about truth and justice.

Rakshas’ cast and crew

Rakshas stars Vijay Raghavendra along with Mayuri, Avinash, Malavika, Appanna, Abhijeeth and others in lead roles. Directed by Suhan Prasad, the show is co-written by Suhan with Apoorva and produced by Tharunsudhir Productions.

During the trailer launch, Vijay Raghavendra said that Rakshas is not a story that comes easily. He further said that what excited him were the silences in the narrative, the pauses, the unanswered questions and the emotional weight carried by the character.

The actor further explained that Hanumappa was a man torn between duty and faith, and the trailer offered a glimpse of that conflict without revealing too much.

Vijay Raghavendra was last seen in the lead role in the thriller Rippan Swamy. Directed by Kishore Mudubidire, the film also stars Ashwini Chandrasekhar, Prakash Thuminad, Vajradheer Jain, Yamuna Srinidhi and others in lead roles.
