Raju Weds Rambai OTT release date and platform details
The digital streaming rights of Raju Weds Rambai have been acquired by ETV WIN, making it accessible to a wider audience. The film’s OTT release on December 18 is expected to attract audiences who enjoy realistic love stories based on social issues. With the growing interest in regional cinema on OTT platforms, the film is likely to get a second wave of attention from its digital debut.
The story revolves around Raju (Akhil Raj), a cheerful young man living in a small village near Ilandu. He along with his parents runs his family’s traditional band troupe, which is played by Shivaji Raja and Anita Chaudhary. Raju falls in love with Ramabai (Tejaswini), daughter of Venkatanna (Chaithu Jonnalagadda), a compounder in a government hospital.
As their relationship grows, Rambai’s father comes to know about their love. He places social honor above everything else and is strongly opposed to relationships. This decision creates an emotional conflict that deeply affects both families. The film explores themes of love, honor, sacrifice, and the impact of rigid social beliefs.
Despite being newcomers, Akhil Raj and Tejaswini deliver natural and emotionally mature performances. Their chemistry feels genuine and believable. Chaithu Jonnalagadda comes across as a father driven by ego and social pressure, while the supporting cast adds emotional depth to the story.
Inspired by real-life incidents from the Manukota and Ilandu regions, director Sailu Kampati has presented the story with honesty. The first part maintains a light and catchy tone, while the second part slows down slightly before reaching a powerful climax. Wajid Baig’s cinematography beautifully depicts rural life and Suresh Bobbili’s music strengthens the emotional impact of the film.
