Rajpal Yadav returns with Akshay Kumar after 11 years in Bhoot Bangla: Same hunger
Rajpal Yadav discusses Bhoot Bangla, horror comedy and his evolving philosophy on acting, reflecting on the resurgence of his career among young audiences through social media.

Special conversation with Rajpal Yadav India Todayspoke at length about style, his personal philosophy and the evolving landscape of entertainment, as well as reflecting on a career that is finding new life among younger audiences.
Telling about his upcoming comedy horror film ghost banglaRajpal said, “Look ghost bangla And enjoy it with all your heart. From the days of Panchatantra till now, in every home, two or three fears are instilled in the mind of the child from an early age, ‘Don’t go there’, ‘Don’t do that’. And the child wonders why. That’s why this fear-based space, horror comedy, will always exist. Like comedy, horror, and realism, these genres never die. Sometimes it comes in the form of marriage, sometimes love, sometimes violence and sometimes comedy of errors. For me, doing this kind of work gives me childlike happiness. I have experienced that fear in my rural life, so I treat it like a playful place, because everyone knows it is entertainment. I just want people to enjoy it.”

He further said, “With ghost banglaI don’t know about the audience right now, but it was special to work with Priyan sir after such a long time. It has been many years since he made a Hindi film, maybe four to six years. But when we started shooting, there was no gap at all. It felt as if we had taken leave only yesterday and started work again today. In fact, I have seen him working harder than even Hungama or Chup Chup Ke. Same energy, but now even more effort.
People say we have matured with time, but I think we have become students. Yes, age matters, but the world has changed massively in the last 20 years. Earlier there were nine channels, today there are thousands. Reality is everywhere now, so what’s left for artists? Entertainment.”
Reflecting on how the industry and its artistes have evolved over the years, he said, “From letters to pagers, mobile phones to social media, life has been evolving. Be it a 70-year-old or a seven-year-old, the world is equally new for both. So if we don’t upgrade ourselves, we will be left behind. That’s why I feel, even today, I am still new. I still have to learn like a child. People like Priyan sir and Akshay Working with Kumar, who gave his best 20 years ago and is still trying to give his best with the same hunger to learn, feels amazing.
Highlighting how social media has given a second life to his work, Rajpal shared, “Now, with reels and short clips, the younger generation is discovering our work on small screens. Kids are enjoying us on their phones. I bow down to all these young audiences. From 2000 to 2020, I did a variety of roles, lead, supporting, comic, intense and even one-scene presentations. Today, memes And through social media, that work has got a new life. A 10-year-old child knows me through memes. That means I have got an audience for the next 70 years. I salute them, whether it has brought them happiness or made money, I feel like I have completed my silver jubilee. Has stepped into the stage.
He further added, “With theater experience, training, serials and films, it feels like I have lived 500 lives in one lifetime. And if I were born again, I would like people to still say, ‘Show us Rajpal Yadav’s films.’ In this hectic life, I see myself in three forms. One, Dutta Kumar, my responsibilities as a father, son, brother and human being. Secondly, Prakriti Kumar, a person associated with nature, water, air, earth, sky and forests. They remind me of my true place in the world. And thirdly Manoranjan Kumar, an artist who lives by creativity and passion. With these three shades, I am coming to you with Bhoot Bangla on 10th April. Whatever is good in this is due to your blessings. And whatever you don’t like, I will work harder to improve it.”
When Rajpal was asked who he pairs best with in comedy, he said, “Actually, with everyone, but I would also say with myself. If an actor doesn’t have a connection with himself, he can’t make a good pair with anyone else. Acting is a craft of self-connection. You have to understand yourself and build your creativity from within.”
ghost bangla It is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 10.
