Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Cooli’, directed by Lokesh Kanagarj, has been awarded a certificate – marking a rare change for superstars, whose films usually attract audiences in the age groups. This makes the first Rajinikanth film ‘Cool’ in the years to get such a rating to indicate the film’s acute and unfiltered action.
Director Lokesh Kanagarj has been vocal about his creative direction, stating that there will be “no compromise on violence and action” in the film. Their vision is perfect for the story, the spine of the story is built with high-octane action sequences.

Built by Kalanithi Maran under Surya Pictures Banner, ‘Kooli’ claims a stellar dress artists including Nagarjuna, Satyaraj, Upendra, Shruti Haasan and Saubin Shahir, which leads to Rajinikanth Deity.
A special highlight is in the form of Aamir Khan’s cameo – 29 years after ‘Attank Hi Atank’ marks his on -screen reunion with Rajinikanth, and the superstar’s first collaboration with Satyaraj in 38 years after ‘Sri Bharat’.
The technical crew includes Girish Gangadharan as a cinematographer, as the editor of Philomin Raj, and promising stunt direction by Anbariva Duo – a style action experience.
‘Kudi’ is set to release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada on 14 August. Adding to the buzz, the trailer and audio launch have been slated at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on 2 August. Sun Pictures has officially confirmed the incident, with fan enthusiasts around one of the most anticipated films of 2025.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is currently on a short break from filming ‘Jailor 2’, who is starring Nelson Dilipkumar. The sequel to the 2023 blockbuster is expected to hit theaters in the first half of 2026.
