Ajay Devgan’s latest film, ‘Red 2’ performed well in its early weekends. The film collected a network of about Rs 21.50 crore on its first Sunday, with a four -day collection of Rs 70.75 crore. The film remained almost stable throughout the weekend after opening with a net of Rs 19.25 crore.
‘Red 2’, which also played the lead roles by Ritish Deshmukh and Wani Kapoor, reduced the run of other films at the box office, including Akshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari: Chapter 2’, and Sunny Deol’s ‘Jat’. Raj Kumar Gupta-director is now eyeing a benchmark of Rs 100 crore, which will not be possible to fail to pass the important Monday test at the ticket window.

- Thursday: 19.25 crores
- Friday: Rs 12 crore
- Saturday: 18 crores
- Sunday: 21.50 crores

It is important for ‘Raid 2’ to continue to attract audiences in theaters even during the week. A slight decline in its collection is expected, looking at Monday, there is a working day and no one promotes the film for a whole week.
It will be interesting to see how well the film performs on its first Monday, which will help determine its performance for a long time. In 2019, nets worth Rs 103.07 crore were collected during their lifetime. The second part must defeat this figure to set a new benchmark for the franchise.
Meanwhile, India in its review today gave a 2.5-star rating to ‘Red 2’. A part of the review reads, “There is a lot going on in ‘Red 2’. It has more than two songs that have been put to look more ‘film’, and a plot that needs to be tightened. The first half of the film produces Amay Patnaik’s passion for smartness and duty. Does not allow to emerge as a hero.
