Rahu Ketu box office collection: Pulkit Samrat’s comedy drama earns Rs 55 lakh on first Tuesday, nears disappointing end

Rahu Ketu, starring Fukrey duo Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma in lead roles, registered a rise of 25 per cent on Tuesday. This surge was due to discounting of ticket prices by cinema chains. Directed by Vipul Vig, the film collected Rs. 55 lakhs on the fifth day, taking the total earning to Rs. Earned Rs 4.85 crore at the Indian box office.

Coming from an ambitious mythological base, Rahu Ketu Could not impress the audience with its content and comedy. The film received average word-of-mouth, which is also getting reflected in its day-to-day trends. Although the film managed to register better collections than its rival releases, Happy Patel: Dangerous DetectiveThe fate of both the films was decided on their opening day itself.

The complete phase of Rahu Ketu is likely to be around Rs. 7 crore to Rs. 9 crores, because there is a big clash ahead with the film border 2. Pulkit Samrat’s film has no chance of standing against the Sunny Deol starrer as Border 2 will take over almost all the screens and push every stalled release out of the theatres.

For those unaware, Rahu Ketu is about two fun-loving characters born from the magical notebook of writer Churu Lal, who set out on a journey to retrieve it from the cunning Meenu Taxi. Apart from Pulkit and Varun, Shalini Pandey, Chunky Pandey, Piyush Mishra, Manu Rishi Chadha, Amit Sial and Sumit Gulati are also in important roles in the film.
