Actor Raghu Ram recalls the time when his wife’s family thought he was disrespectful, and questioned their decision to marry their daughter to him. The 49-year-old recently appeared on a podcast, where he talked in detail about his personal life and how Roadies influenced his image across the world.

Raghu said that his Italian wife’s family knew someone from India, who told them that he was abusive and that he should not marry Natalie. He said he thought he was going to kill his wife.

“In her family, there’s an Indian. They realized she was marrying Raghu. There was an intervention, where the women in the family surrounded Natalie’s mother and left her ‘What’s wrong with you? How can you let your daughter do this?’

The actor further said that this brand was given to him by MTV’s reality show Roadies, in which he played the role of a judge for a long time. He said, “It really happened. A big issue had arisen with Natalie and her family because of Roadies Raghu.”

Raghu also revealed about his divorce with actor Sugandha Garg. They talked about the point in their marriage where they both realized that they had ruined their friendship when they decided to get married.

She said, “We were friends, we got married, we ended our friendship. They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, my divorce almost killed me. I’m stronger, and now, I have more clarity than ever before about relationships, and what a man can do in a relationship.”

Raghu was married to Sugandha from 2006-2018. After his divorce, the actor married Canada-based Natalie Di Lucio in 2018. The couple is now blessed with a son named Rhythm in 2020.
