Radhika Madan on Irrfan: He empowered me as an artiste and a woman

Actress Radhikka Madan, who is currently receiving appreciation for her role Subedar with anil kapoorRecalled his experience of working with Irrfan english medium. She shared how the late actor helped her gain confidence and see herself as an equal on the sets.
In a recent conversation with news18Radhikka talked about Irrfan’s influence in the early days of her career.

She said, “I learned a lot from him. I think one thing he did for me and I didn’t even realize it was that he empowered me as an artiste and as a woman. He didn’t treat me like a child on the set.”
She further added, “When I worked with him I was a nobody; he was the superstar who was present on the set, but he empowered me by asking me how I was looking at the scene. He also trusted my instincts, respected me a lot, respected me and treated me as an equal.”
Reflecting on how it shaped his perspective, he said, “It would probably be very normal for them to do all this, but it took a lot of courage for a young girl to take a stand for herself and move forward. (To them, this may have all been very normal, but it gave a young girl great courage to stand up for herself and move forward.)”
“I think it set a pretty standard for me and I started seeing myself as a worthy person,” he said.
