Deepika Padukone is all set to work with young director Atlee for the second time. They have joined forces for the ambitious Telugu pan-India film Raaka, earlier titled AA22xA6, starring Allu Arjun. Last year, the makers had officially welcomed the Bollywood actress on board with an action-heavy video, mentioning, “Rani goes on to win.” Here’s all you need to know about the character of DP in Atlee’s science fiction film.
What do we know about Deepika Padukone’s character in Raaka?
The video teaser of Deepika Padukone’s character shows her playing the role of a warrior princess, wielding heavy metal weapons and learning combat moves. It also shows him riding a CGI horse while attacking his enemies. Apparently, she is playing a fiery character with a lot of action sequences, delivering on the promise of the upcoming film being high-octane action.
Earlier, Pinkvilla had exclusively reported that Padukone had allotted 100 days to shoot the film. Throughout his journey in the magnum opus, he is expected to perform dramatic and action-packed scenes. A source close to the development tells us, “It features Deepika Padukone with Allu Arjun like never before. The team has designed a special look of a warrior as well as weapons for Deepika’s character.” This is the first time that the Bajirao Mastani actress will share the screen with Allu Arjun.
Speaking to India Today, director Atlee stressed that the DP is his lucky charm. Sharing more details about her character in Raaka, she said that the film will show “a completely different side of Deepika”.

Earlier today (April 8, 2026) on Allu Arjun’s 44th birthday, the makers released the first look of the headliner. He also revealed that the AA22xA6 has finally been named Raaka. While Deepika Padukone plays the lead role in the one-of-a-kind alternate reality film, female stars like Rashmika Mandanna, Janhvi Kapoor, Ramya Krishnan and Mrunal Thakur are also expected to play lead roles.
Reports also indicate that Tiger Shroff has also been roped in to play an important role in the film. However, the makers have not confirmed the rumors yet.
