Queen Mary of Denmark was knocked to the ground after being hit by an electric scooter during a royal event this week, a newspaper report said. The incident frightened Queen Mary and she lost her balance and briefly fell to the ground. Her security personnel immediately sprang into action and stopped the scooter from moving as soon as she got back up.

Video footage of the incident that went viral on social media showed the queen being shot while her two children stood just a few feet away. Denmark’s royal communications office later announced that Queen Mary was unhurt.

An eyewitness told Sky News, “I could see how badly he was hurt, his eyes started watering immediately. He must have been in a lot of pain after being hit at such a high speed. After the incident, the scooter driver claimed that he did not know what caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, Queen Mary was born on February 5, 1972, in Hobart, Tasmania. She was working as an advertising executive in Australia when she met Frederik, 34, while hanging out with friends at Sydney’s Slip Inn bar during the Summer Olympics in 2000. After several secret dates and a long-distance romance, the two got engaged in October 2003 and married at Copenhagen Cathedral on May 14, 2004.
