Hera Pheri producer Firoz Nadiadwala booked for fraud over film rights, investigation underway
Filmmaker Firoz Nadiadwala has filed a fraud complaint in Mumbai regarding the copyright and remake rights of Hera Pheri. He has accused them of usurping his rights, extorting money and attempting to disrupt the public listing of his company.

In the complaint, he said, ‘There was a huge investment in the film at that time, so due to fear of defamation and loss, I had to pay under pressure, even though the court had given a stay order in my favor.’
According to the complaint, this matter has come up again after 25 years. Nadiadwala alleged that the original film’s owners Siddiqui KL and M Paul Michael resold the rights for Rs 3 lakh to M/s Seven Arts International’s Gopal Pillai Vijayakumar on May 12, 2022, despite knowing that the rights had already been sold.
Following their complaint, the police registered a case against Gopal Pillai Vijayakumar and M Paul Michael under sections 318(4), 356 and 3(5) of the IPC and further investigation is underway.

Nadiadwala also alleged that the parties were obstructing the public listing process of his company. He said that false news is being spread about actors Akshay Kumar, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal by using their names and this is damaging their professional reputation.
