Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton and their children have reportedly become victims of a security scare. According to a report, two masked thieves stormed the Windsor Castle estate while the couple and their family were fast asleep in their home located just minutes away.
Prince William and the Princess of Wales were at their Windsor Castle estate when the attackers climbed over a six-foot fence at night, The Independent reports. Thieves reportedly stole a farm vehicle after entering the royal grounds through a gate.
According to The Independent, this incident happened last month.
Two masked men used a stolen truck to break into royal property. After this, they stole a pickup truck and a quad bike, according to officials assigned to the case.
According to the outlet, Prince William and Kate Middleton were reportedly sleeping at their Adelaide cottage with their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six, when the incident happened near their property. .
The incident becomes even more shocking as reports suggest that the damaged gate is only five minutes away from Adelaide Cottage.
Furthermore, this gate is said to be regularly used by the royal family due to its proximity to it.
According to reports, King Charles was in Scotland at the time of the incident. Similarly, the Queen was believed to be absent from the property, reportedly attending a spa in India ahead of the couple’s trip to Samoa and Australia.
According to Thames Valley Police, thieves broke into the property at around 11:45pm on Sunday, October 13.
“We received a report of a burglary at a property on Crown Estate land off the A308 in Windsor,” the officer said.
Speaking further to the media, Thames Valley Police Authority also said that they had received reports of criminals entering a farm building and stealing a “black Isuzu pick-up” with a “red quad bike”.
According to authorities, the masked men then drove toward the “Old Windsor/Datchett area.”
According to officials, no person has been arrested so far while they continue their investigation.
