An American judge has ruled that some visa records of Prince Harry should be released by 18 March 2025. This decision follows the legal battle on whether the Duke of Sussex was true on their immigration paperwork about the use of previous drugs.
The ruling, right -wing Heritage Foundation, created by Judge Carl Nichols, sunds the Homeland Security Department (DHS) department for access to Harry’s visa files according to the Daily Mail.
Judge Nicols approved the redestion proposed by DHS, stating that they were appropriate. Files that will be made public can show immigration forms whether Harry has denied the use of previous drugs. However, a document will remain private.
In its judgment, Nicols said, “The government has provided the documents to the court with its proposed reduction … which are appearing appropriate, the government has been ordered to load the reduced versions of the documents on the dock since March 18, 2025.”
The Heritage Foundation has argued that the documents should be made public to determine whether Prince Harry had received preference treatment while applying for his US visa.
The group claims that they would not have responded to the question of drug usage despite accepting their memoirs in the spare and Netflix chain that they used canbis, cocaine and psychedelic substances.
In the previous court filing, DHS stated that Harry’s immigration record should remain private, arguing that despite being a public person, he still had the right to privacy about his visa status.
The agency also said that issuing files will not provide meaningful insight into immigration law enforcement. Initially, in September 2024, the judge ruled that Harry’s right to secrecy defeated public interest.
However, he later rethinked, while preserving sensitive details, decided to disclose more and more information. Nichols while talking about public transparency said that it was necessary and targeted to release the maximum amount of material.
