Actress Prayaga Martin, along with Manjummel Boys actor Srinath Bhasi were under police investigation due to their alleged links with gangster Omprakash. As per Onmanorama report, officials claimed that the actor visited the notorious gangster in his hotel room in Kochi, where a small quantity of drugs were found. However, Prayaga came forward to share her side of the story and clarified the situation.
Speaking to Manorama Online, the actress said that she met her friends at the hotel and left around 7 pm to attend an event in Kozhikode. “I don’t know Omprakash personally. To be honest, I had heard his name only when a media person approached me for an interview,” Prayag said.
“I had gone to a hotel in Maradu to meet some friends,” she said. Prayaga further said that she had to board the Vande Bharat Express to attend a function the next day, so she stayed in her friend’s room for some time. She claimed that she slept there for two hours and unfortunately, the incident happened while she was there.
Meanwhile, Omprakash and his associate Shihas were arrested from the hotel after police received information about alleged drug sale. According to the report, the police also recovered a small quantity of drugs along with liquor bottles.
Police officials also collected blood samples to determine whether the suspects had used them before the Alan Walker music show in Kochi.
However, according to reports, the court granted bail to Omprakash and his associate saying that the police officers could not prove the commercial quantity of drugs in their possession. The investigation of the case is still going on.
