Poor audio, seats full of filth: Angry Ilaiyaraaja fans allege mismanagement at concert
Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja presented his first symphony, Valiant, and a long set of hit songs over two days in Chennai. The concert received praise for its symphonic scale and complaints about venue arrangements amid claims of mismanagement.

Music maestro Ilaiyaraaja brought the symphonic experience to Chennai by performing his first symphony, Valiant, at the Nehru Outdoor Stadium in Chennai on 30 May. On Sunday, May 31, they performed a three-hour 30-minute concert with a solid playlist of their hit songs. While a section of people enjoyed the concert, others raised a number of issues ranging from dirt covered seats to poor audio calibration and high priced food.

The two-day concert was organized by ACTC Events, the company was previously criticized for the fiasco at AR Rahman’s Marakkama Nenjaam concert in 2023, where several fans alleged mismanagement and some women were even molested. Angry fans of Ilaiyaraaja expressed their displeasure over the poor features on X.
An X user listed the practical difficulties fans faced on the program. He pointed out that there were no volunteers in uniform to guide people, small LED screens and poor audio quality. He also claimed that he had to leave the concert midway.


Another user claimed that the audience could not hear what Ilaiyaraaja said and what was worse, there were seats full of dirt at the venue.

The concert started with God mother mother The song includes many superhit songs including Madai Thirandhu, Anand Ragam, megam kottam, Rakama Kaithattu, intha maan, Oru Jeevan Azhaithadhu, Raja Raja Chozhan Naan, Vanithamani, Thendral Vandhu Ennai Thodum and ended with N Jodi Manja Kuruvi.
