Following the invitation by French President Emmanuel Macron, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as co-chair at the upcoming AI summit in France.
During a weekly press briefing on Friday, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “France is hosting the AI summit and French President Emmanuel Macron has invited PM Modi to co-chair the summit. Specifically, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Summit will be held in France from 10 to 11 February. On 10 February, various stakeholders including heads of state and government representatives will participate in a number of sessions. Macron will host a formal dinner for heads of state and other VIPs that evening, while the summit on February 11 will have a dedicated leaders’ session exclusively for heads of state.
Earlier, while addressing the 30th Conference of Ambassadors in Paris on January 11, President Macron had said that PM Modi will visit the country. “France will host an AI summit on February 10-11. A summit for action, as we call it. This summit will allow international conversations on AI. It will have Prime Minister Modi, who is on a key visit Will go. We want to hold talks with all powers in our country.”
The French President stressed the importance of AI as a global conversation, saying it will include countries like the US, China and India, as well as the Gulf countries, which have an important role in the development and regulation of AI technologies.

The French Presidency also highlighted the importance of addressing issues related to disinformation and misuse of AI, which are central topics for the summit discussions.
