Piyush Mishra tells wife about affairs, admits he was not a good husband
Actor Piyush Mishra opened up about confessing his extramarital affairs to wife Priya Narayanan. He said that their relationship was strengthened by his honesty and his constant support.
Actor-writer Piyush Mishra recently opened up about his past mistakes, revealing that he had confessed to his extramarital affairs to his wife Priya Narayanan. During a conversation on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, he admitted that he was not a good husband during the initial years of their marriage.
Piyush Mishra remembered his ‘bad husband’
Reflecting on how his understanding of love has evolved over time, he said, “Now I’m a good husband; I wasn’t before. Back then, I wasn’t responsible at all, and marriage is a huge responsibility. When you fall in love at 20, there’s no logic to it, that’s the beauty of it.”

The actor further added, “But after 35, you love someone who is willing to grow old with you. The definition of love is a woman who is willing to grow old with you, and she accepted that she would grow old with me.”
He further explained that it took him several years to truly accept his role as a husband. He said, “I accepted very late that I have become a husband, it took me a long time. It took about 10-15 years to realize that she is my wife. Before that, she was just a woman who raised my children, cooked for me and took care of the house.”
The 64-year-old actor then described himself as a dry person who did not express emotions easily, not only towards Priya but in general.
When Mishra confessed to his wife about his extramarital affairs
Recalling a turning point in their relationship, Mishra recalled the moment he confessed to Priya about his extramarital affairs.
“When I realized my mistakes, I sat her down one day and told her everything I had done. We were both crying and we hugged each other. After that, we felt lighter. She said, ‘You made mistakes, I did too, you did more, I did less. Let’s end these matters right here.’ Our understanding became much stronger,” he said.
Piyush also explained why Priya decided to stay with him despite his infidelity. She said that she has made many sacrifices and told him that she will never divorce him, no matter what, and will not leave him.
Mishra thanked his wife for her support
The actor expressed his gratitude for Priya’s commitment, saying that it was her greatness that kept their marriage together. He admitted that he felt fortunate to have her perseverance and support.
Piyush Mishra and Priya Narayanan married in a simple ceremony at the Arya Samaj Temple in Delhi in 1995. The couple have two sons, Josh and Jai.
