Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the focus points of the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos. HCL Tech Chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra shared some insights on the matter in an interview with NDTV, recognizing the role AI has played and will play in the coming years.
Ms Malhotra said AI is the “most democratizing” technology compared to some of the technologies that came before it.
“I think the operative term is 10 years because people don’t realize that even when technological revolutions come, it still takes a certain amount of time before they are adopted. “If you look at the youth today, everyone is already using this open source architecture and technology in their everyday lives for productivity. If I look back 10 years from now, I think it will be It will definitely happen like the Internet among people and companies use it,” Ms Malhotra said.
With generic AI seen as a long-term growth driver, the HCL Tech chairperson said it is a very competitive sector, and it is all about how a tech firm integrates generic AI into existing services while offering them to customers. Combines with.

“For example, we’ve broken down our AI offerings into four parts. We have AI Force, which is our platform where we look at software life cycle development and how you can really shorten it, make it more Can be productive.
“We’ve got AI Foundry, which is working on managed services, cognitive infrastructure of companies, data, and data is kind of the underlying platform for AI, which is absolutely integral. We’ve built a network of AI labs, and We have done that in the last 12 months,” Ms Malhotra said, adding that she has laboratories in California, London, two in Munich, two in India and one in Singapore.
“We are able to leverage solutions globally. So sometimes, you’re working with an oil and gas company in the US and you have some AI solutions. We bring it to customers working in Singapore. A similar industry is looking for a similar solution,” Ms Malhotra said.
He said that AI Lab is the third and AI Engineering is the fourth offering of HCL Tech.
The five-day meeting that began on Monday in Davos is exploring ways to restart growth, harness new technologies and strengthen social and economic resilience, according to the World Economic Forum.
