Streamers University 2026 has been filled with clips all over social media, but a moment involving Twitch streamers Pebe and Nick “Lacey” became one of the biggest talking points of the event. It all started when a video showed PayBae pulling Lacey’s injured leg while he was dealing with a torn ACL. However, the clip didn’t stop there. What happened next, after both the creators explained their respective sides, made the whole situation even bigger. If you’re wondering who PayBae is and why his name is suddenly everywhere, here’s a quick explanation. He is a Twitch streamer with over 69,000 followers and an average of around 381 concurrent viewers. He is also a UCLA graduate who has slowly built his audience through personality-driven streams.

What happened between PayBae and Lacy? Streamer University?

The controversy stems from a clip posted on X by user @Awk20000 on July 19. In the video, Lacey can be seen on the ground after being taken out of her wheelchair by Josh “YourRage” during the event.A few moments later, PayBae came there and grabbed Lacey’s left leg. She reacted immediately and asked him to stop saying that it hurts. Then things started getting tense between the two.As they continued to talk, Lacey questioned why someone would pull his leg when he was clearly injured.“What do you mean? Pulling my leg while I’m yelling, ‘Stop, it hurts’? Isn’t that such a big indicator that my leg is hurt?”For Lacey’s part, he couldn’t understand why his injury wasn’t obvious enough for people to leave his leg alone.

PayBae apologized but felt people kept dragging the situation on

PayBae did not deny what happened. During the conversation he apologized and admitted that he had done it himself “look bad.” She also said that she is taking accountability for pulling Lacey’s leg.But he was also troubled by how things were going afterward. According to PayBae, the situation would have been worse if Lacey had kept talking about it to his audience.“I made myself look bad. You’re right. I’m now apologizing and taking accountability.”She also claimed that Lacy’s community was coming after her because of this incident. The debate did not end here. PayBae accused Lacy of being disrespectful towards her and even falsified what she told him “Gaslighting” And “cunning” During their exchange.

PayBae says there was already “fake beef” between them

Later during his IRL stream, PayBae again talked about the incident and tried to explain why he didn’t see it the same way as everyone else. She claimed that Lacey had “Talked to him really crazy.” Even before all this happened he said that there was already a dispute going on between them “Fake beef.” From his perspective, she was just talking back because that’s the way things were between them.“They make it seem like I did really bad… I don’t think I did really bad because he said really crazy things to me.”She also emphasized that she wasn’t trying to be the person everyone blames for and finished by saying that she “really didn’t do anything.” For now, those comments remain Streamer’s most detailed public explanation of what happened at the university.
