Mammootty and Mohanlal’s reunion movie Patriot is hitting the theaters in a few hours. The much-awaited espionage thriller recorded stellar advance bookings. According to estimates, the Malayalam film grossed approximately Rs. Earning Rs 20 crore at the worldwide box office. Out of this approximately Rs. Pre-sales worth Rs 12 to 13 crore were recorded in international territories, while the remaining came from Indian markets. Approximately Rs. Of the total advance, Rs 5.60 crore came from Kerala only. This is the second best ever achievement for a Malayalam film in its home region.
Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the espionage thriller is set to have an all-time blockbuster opening at the box office. Based on trends, discussions and unprecedented progress, Patriot has Rs. There is a good opportunity to reach. 25 crores to Rs. Earning Rs 30 crore on the first day at the global box office. This will be the second highest opening for a Malayalam film globally after L2 MPuraan.
Patriot is undoubtedly the biggest film in Malayalam cinema this year, both in scale and star cast. It is likely to challenge the top grossers of Malayalam cinema – Loka Chapter One: Chandra, L2: Empuraan, Thoodaram, Vaazha 2, Manjummel Boys, and others. For those unaware, Patriot stars two Mollywood legends Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles. Apart from the two veterans, the film also stars Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Revathi, Darshan, Indrans and others.
