Malayalam film Patriot starring Mammootty and Mohanlal in lead roles is doing well at the box office. After opening with Rs. The Rs 8.50 crore spy thriller saw a 38 percent decline in its earnings on the second day. Rs were added to this. On the second day it earned Rs 5.25 crore, taking the total to Rs. The film grossed around Rs.15,000 in its opening weekend. 18 crores or more in Kerala, which will be a banging weekend start. The film received positive to mixed reviews among the audience, with the addition of mega-actors boosting its business. However, its fortunes will depend on how it fares during the week.
Patriot is undoubtedly the biggest film in Malayalam cinema this year, both in scale and star cast. It is likely to challenge the top grossers of Malayalam cinema – Loka Chapter One: Chandra, L2: Empuraan, Thoodaram, Vaazha 2, Manjummel Boys, and others. For those unaware, Patriot stars two Mollywood legends Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles. Apart from the two veterans, the film also stars Kunchacko Boban, Fahadh Faasil, Nayanthara, Revathi, Darshan, Indrans and others. The film is directed by Mahesh Narayanan.
