Parasakthi director Sudha Kongara has moved the Madras High Court over alleged unpaid remuneration of Rs 8.39 crore for the Sivakarthikeyan starrer. The controversy has prompted the court to indicate that the satellite release of the film should be put on hold until July 8.

Director Sudha Kongara has approached the Madras High Court alleging that Rs 8.39 crore of her salary has not been paid to Sivakarthikeyan. parashaktiDue to which a new legal dispute has started regarding one of the biggest releases of the year in Tamil cinema.

The petition, filed under Section 9 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, seeks interim protection against alleged non-payment. During the hearing, Justice Kumaresh Babu indicated the release of satellite. parashakti No further action should be taken until July 8, when the matter will be taken up again. The court also directed the production house, Don Pictures, to file its reply by July 7.

According to Kongara’s plea, his remuneration was fixed at Rs 15 crore in his agreement with the producers, with the total consideration including GST coming to Rs 17.70 crore. His lawyer said only Rs 9.31 crore has been paid so far, while an amount of Rs 8.39 crore is outstanding.

According to the petition, Kongara had transferred all intellectual property rights related to parashakti under the agreement, but alleged that he had not received full payment even after five months of the film’s release. His lawyer also told the court that the producers had publicly declared the film a commercial success and claimed that it had earned over Rs 100 crore, yet the remaining remuneration had not been paid.
