Actor Salman Khan has expressed his support for the students participating in the ‘Chalo Sansad’ protest organized by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. Although the 60-year-old actor did not explicitly mention the name of the party in his social media post, he praised the students for peacefully demanding a better education system. Khan urged that the movement should not be politicized, and said he was saddened that the protests had “taken a violent turn”. He also expressed solidarity with the injured students and their families.

Calling the paper leak a “very serious issue”, Salman praised students for coming together for reform and thanked parents for standing by them. “it AgitationThis protest is the right way to go about it,” he wrote, calling the students “courageous” and saying their commitment to education will make India proud.

He said the issue was “between students and the educational system” and urged political parties not to hijack the movement.

Expressing confidence that the government will support the students, Salman concluded his note by saying that he hopes India will one day become a global education hub where people from all over the world come to study.

Salman Khan’s statement comes amid the growing support from the film fraternity towards the students protesting against the paper leak and demanding reforms in the examination system.

Many other film celebrities, including Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah have clearly supported the CJP-led protest and expressed solidarity with the protesters.
