Panasonic FV Series: Anyone looking for the best laptop or the best business laptop can come across some of Panasonic’s expertly designed models, including the Let’s Note series, which are extremely popular in Japan.

Panasonic FV Series: We last met the Panasonic Let’s Note 2023, specifically the Let’s Note SR 12.4, which launched in October 2023 with a number of interesting features, notably a circular trackpad that breaks many of the rules of western laptop design.

And now Panasonic has come out with a brand new refresh (webpage in Japanese) to the iconic Let’s Note lineup, bringing them squarely into 2024.

Panasonic FV Series: New cards, new colors, same circular trackpad

The new models, called Let’s Note FV5, Let’s Note SR4, and Let’s Note QR4, will be available in Japan from June 14, priced around £1,500 (or $1,900).

Availability outside of Japan is often very limited, especially for newer models. Older models appear on eBay and other third-party sellers, however, the default version of Windows 11 is in Japanese.

All Let’s Note models come with Windows 11 Pro as standard, which is what you’d expect from a business-focused device. In terms of design, Panasonic has retained the boxy chassis and circular trackpad that make the laptop so iconic.

Panasonic FV Series: On the inside of the device, everything has been refreshed: all models get Intel’s new Core Ultra 7 processor (except the low-end model, which gets a Core Ultra 5), and a bundled Intel Arch GPU. Users can choose between 16GB and 32GB of RAM, and there are 512GB, 1TB and 2TB SSD configurations.

Panasonic has retained the 14-inch 2160 x 1440 resolution display for all models, and thus the weight of the laptop has been kept down to around 1.1kg. There’s also Wi-Fi 6E, a nano SIM card slot, and an SD card slot, which are nice additions to our MacBook-dominated lives. There is also 5G connectivity along for the ride.

The company says users can expect about nine hours of battery life with typical use, which is pretty good, and most users are likely to use Let’s Note in the office and then occasionally in the car or on the train. is likely to be sufficient. Battery life varies by each model and its respective CPU and GPU version.

As a final development, Panasonic is also introducing two new colors – Floral Gold and Matte Violet – to compliment the business-like gray of the old.

In Japan, Panasonic is running various discounts (webpage in Japanese) at launch, offering money for those who complete quizzes and reducing the price of Microsoft Office.
