Actor Palak Tiwari, who acts with Sanjay Dutt and Mouni Roy in the upcoming horror-comedy ‘The Bhootni’, is refreshed about the uncertainty and pressure coming with being part of the new generation of Bollywood. Today in a conversation with India, Palak opened what is a young actor today, and why she still believes that the best is yet to come.

“Yes, it scared me a little,” she accepts the uncertainty on Bollywood, “but also, I think I believe in my generation. I really believe in us, and I think we will love our audiences at some point.

Tiwari admits that everyone is confused right now. However, “We want the same things, and it may take us longer than our predecessors, because they were fantastic. But hopefully we will reach there.”

The reflections of Palak come amid a wave of criticism directed on the new era artists, which are often seen as a disconnect or lack of living power. “Reaction or criticism is more rigid than ever. I think the audience is disappointed. I think we are also disappointed as actors.”

When it comes to choosing the projects, Palak says his tendency has developed. “With my first film, I did not know what I wanted. I just wanted to be out of there. And I am very grateful for Salman sir. People can say what they want, I would not have done any other way. I learned what really means to be an actor, and a success.”

She speaks with deep praise to Salman Khan, “She is just so hardworking, and I have learned a lot from her.

Her second film, she says, was about Vikas. “I wanted to show my skill a little more – how much I have developed so far – and I got the ‘The Ghost’ and Sidhant Sachdev. I wanted someone to really look at me and say, ‘Hey, I am looking at you.”

She mentions, “This is a disappointing time in the world. But I think 2025 will be a great year for cinema – and for all of us in general. There is a lot for Bollywood that is still not discovered. We have a deep legacy behind us, but I think a new Bollywood will also find its place.”

“At this point, as a new artist, I know I want to do everything. All types of work. I am there. Call me,” she concludes.

‘The Bhutni’ is set to hit the screen on 18 April 2025.
