Nandamuri Balakrishna recently received the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award on 28 April 2025. The actor, who was awarded India’s third largest civilian award, has now become the subject of online discussions, in which many fans questioned the decision and criticized recognition.
In a video shared by ANI, Balakrishna was seen accepting the award from President Droupadi Murmu. However, several nebisens reacted to the incident, a user asked, “What did he achieve?”
Another user commented, “Isn’t he the same man who played a role in Urvashi Rautela-Abhinit Daku Maharaj?” While another commented, “Kaiz Kaiz Gade Ko Milta Hai Padma Bhushan.” Even one also said, “These awards lose their value when they are given to people without any character. Some have no entertainment art.”

For unknown people, Nandamuri Balakrishna was declared as recipients of the Padma Bhushan Award, the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award by the Government of India in January. He is now officially apprised of his award for his contribution in the field of cinema.
Apart from NBK, Tamil superstar Ajit Kumar was also awarded the Padma Bhushan.
On the work front, Nandamuri Balakrishna was last seen in the film Daku Maharaj. Bobby tells the story of Sitaram, directed by Koli and co-written action drama, also known as Daku Maharaj. Sitaram was a former IES officer who once entered a remote village to solve his water shortage issues. However, when the lives of the villagers are in danger of the atrocities of an influential family, Sitaram becomes their unexpected savior.
Starring NBK in the lead role, the film marked Bobby Dole’s Telugu debut. It had a contingent of artists including Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Sachin Khedekar, Makarand Deshpande, Urvashi Rautela and many others.
