‘O’ Romeo’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor and Trupti Dimri has collected Rs. Earned Rs 2.65 crore in its third weekend. Earning of 90 lakhs on third Sunday. The film saw a decline due to the cricket match on the 17th day; It will either remain stable or register nominal growth.
Affiliated for its first week of Rs. 41.75 crores and in the second week Rs. 12 crores, ‘O’ Romeo’ is running at a low of Rs. Reached. Earning Rs 56.40 crore at the Indian box office. Based on current trends, the romantic action drama finished its third week with a collection of Rs. 3.50-4 crores, which ultimately takes its total cost to Rs. Will take till. 58 crore nett.
The film, co-starring Avinash Tiwari, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Nana Patekar, Farida Dalal and others, earned around Rs. 60 crore nett or so. Not that it changes anything for the Shahid Kapoor starrer, it’s just that, at one point, it even reached Rs. Earning Rs 50 crore felt like an impossible task, but with the help of BOGO offers and this open run, it has got there and then some. BOGO offers may boost the NETT numbers a bit, but they take a toll on SHARE because you are paying for that extra free ticket that gets taken out of SHARE. So this isn’t really an economic benefit, more a perception plus, but hey… choosing between two poisons, it’s better than feeding straight away.
One of the main reasons why the film did not get the success it needed was the mixed response it received from the audience. Had the film received favorable word-of-mouth, it would have performed much better.
