O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Trupti Dimri alongside Avinash Tiwari, Nana Patekar, Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia and others, grossed Rs. Earned Rs 1 crore on its third Saturday. The film’s earnings registered a 40 percent increase compared to Friday and a decline of almost 80 percent compared to the previous Saturday.
O’Romeo’s running cume now stands at Rs. Earning Rs 55.70 crore at the Indian box office. Shahid Kapoor’s film in its third weekend grossed around Rs. 3 crores, which will take its total collection close to Rs. Figure of 57 crores. Based on current trends, the film is poised to complete its entire theatrical run at a little above Rs. Earning 60 crores at the Indian box office.
Not that it changes anything for the Shahid Kapoor starrer, it’s just that, at one point, it even reached Rs. Earning Rs 50 crore felt like an impossible task, but with the help of BOGO offers and this open run, it has got there and then some. BOGO offers may boost the NETT numbers a bit, but they take a toll on SHARE because you are paying for that extra free ticket that gets taken out of SHARE. So this isn’t really an economic benefit, more a perception plus, but hey… choosing between two poisons, it’s better than feeding straight away.
One of the main reasons why the film did not get the success it needed was the mixed response it received from the audience. Had the film received favorable word-of-mouth, it would have performed much better.
