Oppo launched its flagship Reno 12 series in the global market a few weeks ago. The series includes the Oppo Reno 12 5G and Reno 12 Pro 5G smartphones. Oppo confirmed last week that these smartphones are coming to India. Today, the company has announced that the Reno 12 series will launch in India on July 12. The Oppo Reno 12 series will feature several high-end features such as a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, 5,000mAh battery, 80W fast charging support. However, according to Oppo, the highlight of the phone is going to be its AI smarts.

Oppo has already confirmed that the Reno 12 series will have several built-in AI features, including AI Best Face, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Studio, AI Summary, and AI Clear Face. The company says that AI will be at the heart of the Reno 12 series.

An interesting feature that Oppo has revealed for the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro is the BeaconLink technology. This technology provides reliable communication during network outages by enabling seamless one-to-one voice calls over Bluetooth, which acts like a walkie-talkie in no-network environments.

Oppo has also confirmed that the Reno 12 series will come with a 5,000mAh battery and 80W SuperVOOC Flash Charge. According to the company, this charges the battery from 0 to 100 percent in just 46 minutes. Apart from this, the smartphone will include smart charging technology, which adapts itself to the user’s habits to help maintain battery life.

Oppo Reno 12, Reno 12 Pro: Expected specifications

Oppo has not yet confirmed the specifications of the Reno 12 series in India, but we can guess that they will be similar to the Chinese variants except for the difference in the chipset. The Chinese version of the Oppo Reno 12 packs a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It runs on Android 14-based ColorOS 14.1 and includes a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support.

The Reno 12 sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, offering a pixel density of 394 PPI and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i and supports HDR10+.

In terms of camera capabilities, the Reno 12 sports a 50-megapixel Sony LYT600 primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro unit. The front camera is 32 MP with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus.

The Oppo Reno 12 Pro has similar specifications but has a 50MP telephoto lens and an upgraded 50MP front camera, both with f/2.0 aperture and autofocus.

We will know the official price of the Reno 12 series in India only at the launch on July 12, but if we look at the Chinese variants, we can get an idea of ​​the price segment in which the smartphones will come in India. The Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro debuted in the Chinese market at a price of CNY 2,699 and CNY 3,399 respectively. This means that if we do a simple conversion, the smartphones will be priced between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 in the Indian market.
