Batteries are probably the component of smartphones that is improving the fastest – OnePlus recently unveiled a pair of phones with 9,000mAh batteries. And we’re not talking about brick-sized phones here, both measuring 8.5mm thick and weighing 215 grams.
The OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V are very similar devices. The 6 is the more premium model with a base price of CNY 2,300 (for a 12/256GB unit), while the 6V is more affordable and starts at CNY 1,900 (8/256GB). We have more detailed pricing for China below. Note that there is an introductory discount that reduces these prices to CNY 200.
The main difference is that the OnePlus Turbo 6 is built for performance. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and has several supporting chips. The Fengchi game kernel helps push games to 165fps to match the frame rate of the display. It also has a G1 Wi-Fi enhancement chip, as well as a chip to handle touch controls (up to 330Hz touch sampling rate).

The OnePlus Turbo 6V uses the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 and although it has a touch chip, it lacks the other two. It also has a huge vapor chamber and multiple heat spreading layers like its more expensive brother.

That said, the Turbo 6 is clearly the higher-performance model because of its more powerful chipset paired with faster memory. It has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 6V has up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Both phones feature 6.78″ OLED displays with 1272p+ resolution and 10-bit colors. The Turbo 6 panel features ProXDR, HDR Vivid, and high-frequency PWM.
Let’s take a look at the impressive batteries inside these two – they have a capacity of 9,000mAh and they support 80W SuperVOOC charging (up to 55W if you use the PPS charger instead).
OnePlus says that with the Turbo 6 you can play games for up to 10.6 hours or watch short videos for up to 22.5 hours on a single charge. If you choose the Turbo 6V, you’re looking at similar endurance numbers – 10.5 hours of gaming and 25.6 hours of TikTok. Both of these make for quite a capable power bank with 27W reverse charging.

The camera island is where things get less impressive – the 50MP main module has an f/1.88 lens with OIS and supports 4K @ 60fps video recording. It also has a 16MP selfie camera (f/2.4) with 1080p @ 30fps video capture. That’s all for both phones, there is no secondary 2MP camera on the back.
Connectivity is just fine – some people will be disappointed to see a USB-C 2.0 port, others won’t care. The pricier phone also has Wi-Fi 7 (BE, 2×2) and Wi-Fi 6 (AX, 1×1) at 6V, as well as Bluetooth with aptX Adaptive, LDAC, and LHDC 5.0 support on both. No, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack, no microSD slot either.
Both phones have the following water protection levels: IP66 (splash proof), IP68 (submersion) and IP69 (hot water jet). However, there are no words on the front mirror. Note that both phones use an optical fingerprint reader.
