OnePlus Pad Go 2 to launch in two days, here’s everything you need to know about it in 5 points
The OnePlus Pad Go 2, launching on December 17, brings a larger display, a new Dimensity chip, and stylus support, aiming to deliver more value without straying too far from the budget tablet space. Here’s everything you need to know in 5 points.

As OnePlus prepares for its December 17 launch event, the spotlight is on its next-generation budget OnePlus Pad Go 2 tablet. While the brand hasn’t left much to the imagination this time, the upcoming tablet still feels like a worthwhile step forward for OnePlus’ budget lineup. Largely aimed at students and young professionals, the Pad Go 2 brings upgrades that go beyond cosmetic changes, making it much more than just a regular refresh. Here’s a look at what’s coming, broken down into 5 key points.
1. Launch date, status and availability in India
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 will be officially unveiled in India on December 17 along with the OnePlus 15R and Watch Lite. The sale is scheduled to begin the next day, December 18. OnePlus appears to be positioning the Pad Go 2 as a more capable but accessible tablet, a step up from the first-generation Pad Go, while still targeting value-focused buyers who want a reliable device for study, entertainment, and light work.
2. Big and bright display focused on content consumption
One of the most notable upgrades is the display. The Pad Go 2 has a 12.1-inch screen with a sharp 2800 x 1980 resolution and 7:5 aspect ratio, which works well for document reading, browsing, and split-screen tasks. OnePlus is claiming 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio and a maximum brightness of 900nits in high-brightness mode. Dolby Vision support has made its debut in the Pad Go series, suggesting a greater focus on video streaming and visual clarity than previous models.
3. New chipset and long-term software promise
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra, which is a step up from the Helio G99 chip used previously. While real-world performance will be known after launch, this upgrade will result in smoother multitasking and better management of heavy apps. The Pad Go 2 will run Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 out of the box, with benchmarks pointing towards an 8GB RAM configuration. OnePlus has also confirmed TUV SUD certification, claiming consistent performance for up to four years, which is reassuring for long-term users.
4. Bigger battery, faster charging and extra flexibility
Battery life is another area where OnePlus is making bold claims. The Pad Go 2 packs a 10,050mAh battery that supports 33W SuperVOOC charging. Interestingly, a 45W charger will be included in the box, even though the charging speed will be capped at 33W. OnePlus says users can expect up to 15 hours of video playback, up to 53 hours of music playback, and up to 60 days of standby. The tablet also supports reverse wired charging, allowing it to act as a power source for other devices when needed.
5. Stylus support, AI tools and expected price range
For the first time, the Pad Go lineup will support a stylus. OnePlus is offering the Pad Go 2 Stylo with 4,096 pressure levels and fast charging, where a 10-minute top-up provides hours of usage. On the software side, users will get AI features like AI Writer, AI Summary, AI Translation, and AI Recorder along with OnePlus’ Open Canvas multitasking system for smoother split-screen workflow.
OnePlus has confirmed a Shadow Black 8GB/256GB variant with 5G support at launch. Although pricing has not been announced yet, the tablet is expected to be priced under Rs 25,000, which is slightly higher than the original Pad Go’s starting price of Rs 19,999 due to the additional features and upgrades.
