After the flagship OnePlus 15, OnePlus has now unveiled its premium mid-range brother, the OnePlus 15R. This time, the R-series phones are trying to attract not only performance-focused users, but also those looking for a premium Android smartphone without stepping into full flagship pricing. Backed by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a massive 7,400mAh battery, and a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, the OnePlus 15R places itself firmly in the premium mid-range segment.
Its design now closely aligns with OnePlus’ flagship lineup and durability kicked up a notch via multiple IP ratings, the 15R is made to handle dust and water exposure better than before. It looks like it is set to compete with the upcoming premium mid-range and affordable flagship phones arriving in 2026.

Display: The OnePlus 15R features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution (2800 by 1272), adaptive refresh rate up to 165Hz, higher refresh rate supported in select games, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

RAM and Storage: You get multiple storage options including 12GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM along with 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Rear cameras: Dual-camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera.
Front Camera: On the front you get a 32-megapixel selfie camera with autofocus.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Performance: The biggest upgrade on the OnePlus 15R compared to its predecessors is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which is the first smartphone globally to feature this processor. Paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, the phone promises to handle heavy multitasking, tough games, and long usage sessions without slowing down. OnePlus has also added its Cryo Velocity cooling system, which includes a vapor chamber and additional thermal layers to help manage heat during sustained workloads.
Huge 7,400mAh Battery: Battery life is another major focus this year. The OnePlus 15R packs a 7,400mAh battery, which is larger than the one found in the flagship OnePlus 15. The phone supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging.
Smooth high-refresh-rate display: The 15R features a large 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 165Hz. While the highest refresh rates are limited to supported games, the display will dynamically scale up to 120Hz during regular use.
Clean software with useful AI features: Running OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, the OnePlus 15R offers a clean and fluid interface. One of the new additions is the Plus Mind, which can be accessed using the new Plus key on the side. Integrated with Google Gemini, the Plus Mind feature is said to be designed to allow users to save information on the device and find, summarize or retrieve references using AI to help organize notes and reminders later.
Better durability: Durability is another area where the OnePlus 15R stands out. With IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, the phone is protected from dust, water immersion and even high-pressure hot water jets.
OnePlus 15R price and availability in India
OnePlus 15R has been launched in India, starting at Rs 47,999 for the base 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB + 512GB model is priced at Rs 52,999.
The phone will be available in Mint Breeze, Charcoal Black and Electric Violet, with the Purple color option being available only for India. You can pre-order OnePlus 15R for Rs 999. OnePlus is also giving away a pair of Nord Buds 3 free with the device for a limited period. The sale of OnePlus 15R is scheduled to begin from December 22 across online and offline channels.
As part of the launch offers, OnePlus has announced bank discounts and other offers, taking the effective starting price to Rs 44,999.
