In an unprecedented step for a film, director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, tickets for ‘The Odissi’, has gone on sale in 2026 a year before the release of his July 17-19 weekend. The fans are eager to experience the latest work of the director in their favorite Imax 70 mm format, which can secure their seats at about 25 to 26 places.

Special Thursday afternoon screening is also slapped for July 16, before the start of the main weekend, as reported by Hollywood reporterNolan’s tech on ancient Greek epic – being completely shot on IMAX film cameras, the first time for a commercial feature.

According to the report, the tickets of Nolan’s much awaited ‘The Odissi’ saw an unexpected demand. The midnight of 95 percent of the IMAX 70 mm seats, the Eastern standard time (ET) was inflamed within an hour of the announcement of the special proposal on the social feed of IMAX at midnight.

According to all accounts, it is first a historical. The tickets have now gone on sale a full year with the inauguration of a film. Under-production film Nolan’s Oscar winner is a much awaited follower for ‘Openheimer’, who achieved a huge business in the IMAX theater.

The extraordinary demand for ‘The Odyssey’ has immediately sold out. This includes around 16 IMAX 70 mm sites across the US that are currently offering the film. Across the country, other IMAX cinemas reported show-out showing includes Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Bufford, Georgia; Indianapolis, Indiana; Grand Rapids, Michigan; King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; And Dallas, Texas. The ticket frenzy for ‘The Odyssey’ rapidly rose to Canada, where IMAX is headquartered. High-profile spaces, including Cineplex Cinemas Mississaga Square and Cineplex Cinema Von, were sold quickly.

Across the Atlantic, both the famous BFI IMAX of London and its Science Museum IMAX Auditorium are sold. In Melbourne, Australia, there are seats in IMAX theater and also at one place in the Czech Republic.

Ticket booking for Christopher Nolan’s 2026 release ‘The Odissi’ has already started.

The IMAX screen contributed to more than $ 190 million to the total global gross of ‘Openhememer’, which was $ 975.8 million or 20 percent. The net budget of ‘The Odyssey’ is $ 250 million, which will make it the most expensive film of Nolan’s career. Apart from Damon, The Epic-Drama also features Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, John Bernthal, Anne Hathaway, Zendya, Lupita Nyong’O, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Mia Goth.

‘The Odissi’ describes the story of the king of Ethaka as he makes a long and dangerous journey home for his wife Penelope after the Trojan War. Their challenges are many because they spend years in facing the succession of mythological creatures, including Cyclops Polyphmus, Siren, Enchantress Sirus, and a trip to the underworld.

The first teaser for Nolan’s event pick started in theaters with trailer Universal’s ‘Jurassic World: Riberth’. It is a bit uncommon to release the trailer so soon, given that ‘The Odyssey’ is still being shot. However, a release like ‘Jurassic World: Ribratha’ paved an opportunity and Universal’s team could not be allowed to go.

The term of advance ticket sales was also leaked when some theater chain jumped the gun and posted notices that the ticket selected 70 mm screening – would go on sale for July 17.
