‘O’ Romeo’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and starring Shahid Kapoor and Trupti Dimri has collected Rs. 70 lakh in the tally, taking the third week’s earnings to Rs. Rs 3.70 crore in five days. The romantic action drama is expected to collect Rs. 50,000 in its third week. 4.50 crore nett or so.
Its associated with Rs. First week’s earnings were Rs 41.75 crore. With the earning of Rs 11.75 crore in the second week, the earning of ‘O Romeo’ has now reached Rs 11.75 crore. 56.75 crore nett. It is expected to reach Rs. 57.50 crores by the end of the third week. Based on current trends, the film is expected to make its entire theatrical run at around Rs. Earning 60 crores at the Indian box office.
Shahid Kapoor’s film has not performed well at the box office, it has been able to perform so well on the basis of buy one-get one offer. BOGO may help the perception of higher NETT numbers, but it comes at the expense of share price or additional expense under P&A, however one would like to see it. That said, even if the film had performed somewhat better, like Teri Baton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, it still would not have been enough to cover the budget. The cost was a bit high considering the face value of the film.
