Lookout notice against Raj Kundra, Shilpa Shetty

Recently, the Mumbai Police issued a lookout circular (LOC) against both in connection with the deception case. Both are accused of removing about 60 crores from the best deal TV for personal use in the loan-cum-investment deal.

Mumbai -based businessman Deepak Kothari accused Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra of cheating on them by using those funds for trade expansion between 2015 and 2023. Both had 87.6 percent of the best deal TV shares.

According to Kothari, the pair initially sought a loan of Rs 75 crore at a 12 percent interest, but later persuaded them to root money as ‘investment’ to reduce taxation with monthly returns and principal repayment promises.

Based on his assurance, Kothari has transferred Rs 31.95 crore in April 2025 and an additional Rs 28.53 crore in September 2025. In September 2016, Shilpa Shetty resigned as the director of the firm. A year later, insolvency proceedings were initiated against the company for defaulting.

The Mumbai Police has registered an FIR under sections 403, 406 and 34 of the Indian Nai Code (BNS). The latest complaint is not a first cheating case against him this year. Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director of Ridhi Siddhi Buliance, accused an investor of cheating an investor in a gold scheme.
