Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya-Shobhita thank PM Modi for tribute to Akkineni Nageswara Rao
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Telugu legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) during Mann Ki Baat. Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Shobhita Dhulipala thanked PM Modi for his heartfelt tribute.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to famous actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR) during the radio program Mann Ki Baat. His son and actor Nagarjuna, grandson Naga Chaitanya and his actor-wife Shobhita Dhulipala thanked PM Modi for paying a heartfelt tribute to ANR, one of the pillars of Telugu cinema. Recently, the Akkineni family celebrated the centenary year of ANR with several programs.
On 29th December, PM Modi remembered Raj Kapoor, Mohammed RafiAkkineni Nageswara Rao and Tapan Sinha during Mann Ki Baat. He said, “Raj Kapoor ji introduced the world to India’s soft power through films. Mohammed Rafi Sahab’s magical voice still mesmerizes the young generation. Akkineni Nageswara Rao Garu showcased Indian traditions and values. Elevated Telugu cinema. Offered Tapan Sinha ji’s films.” New social perspectives promoting social consciousness and national integration.”
He further said that these personalities have been an inspiration for the entire film industry.
Nagarjuna shared the clip of PM Modi’s tribute and thanked him for honoring his father in his centenary year. “His vision and contribution to Indian cinema will continue to inspire generations and this recognition means the world to our family and the countless fans of his work #ANRLivesON #IndianCinema (sic),” they wrote on X.

Akkineni Nageswara Rao, popularly known as ANR, was an actor and film producer. In his seven decade long career, he has been a part of many films that have taken Telugu cinema to new heights. Some of his iconic films include Tenali Ramakrishna, Vipra Narayanan and Bhakta Tukaram.
ANR was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2011. He was last seen in Manam, which also starred Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya in the lead roles. Akhil Akkineni and Amala Akkineni played cameo roles in the film, directed by Vikram Kumar.
