Actor Nagarjuna on Wednesday took strong objection to Congress leader and Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s remarks in which she alleged that BRS working president KT Rama Rao played a role in the divorce of his son Naga Chaitanya with actor Samantha. Nagarjuna called his comments “completely irrelevant and false” and urged the minister to respect people’s privacy.

The actor said in a tweet in Telugu, “I strongly condemn the comments of Honorable Minister Smt. Konda Surekha. Do not use the lives of film stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect the privacy of other people. Respect.”

A video of Konda Surekha had gone viral on social media, in which she was heard accusing KTR of interfering in the personal lives of celebrities and being involved in drug-related controversies.

Surekha also claimed that due to KTR’s influence many actresses had to leave the industry prematurely. Addressing reporters at an event, she said, “Many actresses got married early and left the cinema field because of KTR’s influence on their lives.”

Nagarjuna condemned his comment and also asked the minister to withdraw his comment.

Her tweet further said, “As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and allegations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to immediately withdraw your comments.”

The Congress leader also made allegations regarding drug abuse and coercion: “KTR took drugs, made people addicted to it and organized rave parties. He played with their lives and used these situations to blackmail them. Did. Everyone knows it,” he claimed.

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha publicly announced their separation in 2021. Naga Chaitanya got engaged to actor Shobhita Dhulipala in August this year.
