Spoiler Alert: The Spiiler of Movie is Mrs.

Arati Kadav’s film Mrs. Mrs. highlighted deep gender roles in Indian society starring Sanya Malhotra, which despite developing, remains rigid and oppressive. The film acts as a call for change, emphasizing the importance of equality between men and women. This challenges the traditional perception that domestic responsibilities are only the duty of a woman and advocate gratitude and shared responsibilities within the marriage.

The story follows Richa (Sanya Malhotra), who is a strong willpower woman who gives importance to her freedom by embracing the idea of marriage. She always believed in a balanced partnership, where both husband and wife respect each other’s aspirations. However, her expectations were shattered when she married Diwakar, a gynecologist who initially considered progressive.

As she settled in her new house, she saw that her mother -in -law made tireless efforts to fulfill all domestic work, to fulfill every need of her husband without any question.

When her mother -in -law temporarily left to take care of her pregnant daughter, Richa found herself responsible for home, highlighted the patriarchal approach that had been deeply entered into the family for generations.

Diwakar and his father, despite being an educated professional, treat the house as if it was a service facility, demanding food at a specific time and did not show any appreciation for Richa’s efforts. His cooking skills and satirical comments about domestic management were carelessly thrown away, causing him unaffected and trapped.

Diwakar saw Richa as the only caretaker, who had to meet her daily needs to suit her traditional ideals of a humble wife. When he expressed his desire to pursue his passion for dance and take a teaching job, he was immediately rejected. His ambitions were considered unfair to a woman in his house, and his opinion was clearly ignored.

Over time, Richa’s frustration grew, but his efforts to communicate with Diwakar proved fruitless. He manipulated his feelings, which made him feel as if he was at a mistake to want more than life. Constant condolences and lack of respect pushed him to his braking point.

During the celebration of his father-in-law’s birthday, when he was once again treated like a servant, he stuck. In a fit of anger, he served dirty water to the guests, a task of disregarding the years of harassment. When Diwakar faced him angrily, he submerged him with the same dirty water, which showed him rejection of the toxic atmosphere in which he was forced.

Finally, Richa took a courageous decision to leave Diwakar and recover her freedom. She joined her dance troupe, embrace her passion and finally feeling free. Diwakar, unable to change his ways, revived and continued his life with another woman, who was expected to be in line with the same old expectations.

Richa’s visit to Mrs. serves as a powerful reminder that women do not have to sacrifice their dreams for social approval. Instead, they have the right to seek happiness, respect and freedom on their terms.
