The family-Natak, led by Sanya Malhotra, has become a matter of Mrs. The city as it was released on a popular streaming platform. In the film, Nishant Dahiya plays the role of a poisonous husband, unable to stand for his wife against patriarchy in the family. Because of his negative character, he was abused by many people on social media, especially by men.
In a special chat with Hindustan Times, actor Nishant Dahiya opened about getting negative comments from men who were upset with Diwakar Kumar’s depiction in the film. Talking about what kind of response she received to her character in Mrs., the actor recalled to receive love and hatred in equal measurements.
Talking about the “most extreme reactions” received from men, Dahiya said that some read him saying that “you dumb *** actor, go and eat the mouse’s poison!
Sharing his understanding why he was hating men so much, the actor said that he probably did not like Divakar that touched a nerve in him. The ’83 actor further said that on the contrary, he received beautiful messages from women who told them that they hate their character Diwakar. However, they actually appreciate her work.
Saying that, his inbox was also filled with the text of those who said that he is not eligible to be an actor because he had accepted this bad part. Some thought that he did not have the feeling of choosing good parts.
In the film, Mrs. is directed by Aarti Kadav and a remake of 2021 Malayalam film, The Great Indian Kitchen. This shows that Sanya Malhotra plays the role of a talented dancer, who is forced to forget her dreams to fulfill the rules defined in her new patriarchal family. Apart from Sunny and Nishant, the film also includes Kanwaljit Singh, Aparna Ghoshal, Nitya Moyal, Varun Badola and many others.
