Monali Thakur shares ‘unfortunate truth’ about Varanasi concert: Extremely disturbing
Singer Monali Thakur recently broke her silence on the Varanasi concert, sharing a detailed note where she clarified on the mismanagement. He also criticized the management team for sexual harassment allegations against him and his team.
Playback singer Monali Thakur addressed the Varanasi concert incident where she had to cut short her performance due to mismanagement. In a detailed Instagram post on Monday, she criticized the organizers and refuted their alleged claims of sexual harassment against her and her entourage.
Earlier in December 2024, Monali had walked out of a concert in the city which went awry due to mismanagement. He had to end the show abruptly due to several issues, including an improperly set-up stage that risked an ankle injury.
On January 6, Monali Thakur, famous for the hit song Sawar Loon, and others spoke in detail about the conspiracy in Varanasi. She began her note by saying, “I had hoped to not end 2024 or begin the new year 2025 by not addressing the horrific and negative events that my team and I faced in Varanasi.”
He added, “However, after much thought, I feel it is important to share these unfortunate truths – not only to raise awareness but also to call for reforms in the way such cases are handled. Released by Founder Enclosed is an acknowledgment and apology letter from the event organizer company that hopefully clears up any confusion about the credibility of the false defamatory allegations made against my team and me as well as the disloyal and unethical conduct of the organizers. Sufficient Is.”
Monali expressed her disappointment and said, “It has been very disturbing for me to see the careless and irresponsible behavior of the team of the event management company.”
“In particular, their abuse of laws designed to protect against sexual harassment – laws that are vital to the safety of people in our society, especially women – is both appalling and unacceptable. For personal vendetta, ego gratification, or Weaponizing such laws for retribution against those who refuse to follow unethical practices is not only a gross abuse of rights, but also extremely disrespectful to the actual survivors of these heinous crimes”, he added.
His note further read:
,This reckless behavior undermines the credibility of victims who show immense courage in seeking justice and hinders the hard work of those fighting to end such crimes. It is particularly disappointing to see young women participating in such actions, as it hurts the cause and creates mistrust around an issue that should always be treated with the utmost seriousness.
On December 22, 2024, my team and I faced serious negligence in infrastructure security, false allegations of harassment, and life-threatening threats. This forced me to leave the stage after a 70-minute performance.
Treating sellers poorly, defrauding them of their hard-earned money, or defrauding them in any way is absolutely unacceptable. Disrespecting and harassing those working behind the scenes – whether they’re backstage crew, artist managers, or artist coordinators – is not the way to go. This kind of behavior should never be tolerated or entertained, and I am confident in saying this on behalf of the entire live entertainment industry, a community that works every day to take Indian live entertainment to its highest potential and latest pinnacle. -The night strives tirelessly.
There should be strict rules in place to protect performing artists, backstage and onstage staff from exploitation and ensure a safe, professional and respectful environment for all parties involved.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the UP Police and Varanasi Police Department for their prompt and effective intervention that day, which helped us gain control of the situation. I am also very grateful to the audience of Varanasi for their unwavering love and trust.
Special thanks to: IPS Deepak Bhukar, SP Unnao, IPS Pramod Kumar, DCP Gomati Zone, Varanasi, IPS Saravanan Thangamani, ADCP Varuna Zone, Varanasi and ACP Prateek Kumar. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Regards Monali Thakur (sic).”

In a video shared earlier, the singer said, “I am disappointed that I and my team were very excited to perform here. Let’s not talk about the infrastructure and its condition, because that is the responsibility of the management. Over and over again, I have.” Said I might injure my ankle here, my dancers telling me to calm down, but everything was a mess.”
She added, “We’ve been working so hard because I’m accountable to all of you, and you’ve come through for me, right? So, you’re going to hold me accountable for all of this. I hope I grow up to be that I can take all the responsibility.” I will never trust a Tom, Dick and Harry who are so wasteful, unethical and irresponsible. I sincerely apologize that we had to close this show, but I will definitely be back. I can give you something even better and an even bigger event, so please forgive us.”
