Mollywood Times, which stars Neslen in the lead role, was initially scheduled to release theatrically on May 14, 2026. Directed by Abhinav Sundar Nayak of Mukundan Unni Associates fame, the film is expected to be a satire on the film industry.
However, the makers have now officially confirmed that the film will not release in May and will hit the big screens on June 5, 2026.

The makers confirmed the postponement on their social media handles. Sharing the update, the team wrote, “The new release date of Mollywood Times is here. Vineet Madhavan will meet you on June 5, 2026! A Jacques Bejoy musical.”

Mollywood Times follows Vineeth Madhavan, a teenager from Kuttikkanam who aspires to become a film director. The film has been described as a satirical “hate letter” to cinema.

Director Abhinav Sundar Nayak previously helmed Mukundan Unni Associates. Directed by Vineeth Srinivasan, the film tells the story of a failed, eccentric lawyer who resorts to unethical methods, especially fake accident claims, to scam insurance companies to achieve success, wealth and recognition. He evolves from a struggling lawyer to a fearless and dangerous criminal and manipulates the police, doctors and victims to advance in his profession. Naslen was last seen in the lead role Lokah Chapter 1: MoonStarring Kalyani Priyadarshan and directed by Dominic Arun. Looking ahead, the actor has Tiki Taka, starring Asif Ali in the lead role.
Apart from this, the Premalu actor will also co-star with Mammootty in the film mattancherry mafia. Additionally, he is set to debut in Tamil cinema with Suriya starrer Suriya47 directed by Aavesham fame Jeethu Madhavan.
