Asha Sharma gets a new role amid big controversies!
Amid the layoff controversy, Sharma was selected by the US Federal Reserve to lead a task force. US Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Wersh announced the names of the leaders of five task forces formed to examine the central bank’s approach to monetary policy and propose transformational changes. Among the leaders named by Warsh are three people of Indian origin, former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan, Harvard University economics professor Raj Chetty and Asha Sharma.When announcing the leadership, Warsh said, ‘The goal is simple: to ensure that the Fed is best positioned to achieve our objectives in this consequential time. Sharma will run the task force on productivity and employment.
