The company claims that its Meta AI can help users with everyday tasks, learning, and creative work. Introduced at Meta Connect last year and powered by the latest Llama 3 technology, Meta AI has been expanding globally since April and is now accessible to users in India.

How to use Meta AI on WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook

On WhatsApp, Meta AI can be summoned in group chats to help make plans and make suggestions. Whether you need restaurant recommendations for dinner or itinerary ideas for a road trip, the company says users can ask Meta AI in their WhatsApp conversations. To access Meta AI directly, you can look for a blue-purple circle icon at the top of the app once the update is available on your device.

On Instagram, users can interact with Meta AI by typing “@” in a direct message followed by their query. Meta AI can provide information, help plan events, or generate ideas in your chat. Only time will tell if this AI feature will prove useful in apps like Instagram as people are more likely to use it on WhatsApp than this social media app.

On Facebook, Meta AI provides additional context and information about posts that appear in your feed, according to the company. For example, if you find a post about the northern lights, you can ask Meta AI about the best time to see them. In Messenger, Meta AI can assist in chats similar to its functionality on WhatsApp, providing recommendations, helping make plans, or simply adding an interactive element to the conversation.

Interestingly, Meta AI also has a cool feature called “Imagine”, which allows users to create and share AI-generated images directly from their chats. By using the word “Imagine” in your conversations with Meta AI, you can perform a few tasks. These include creating personalized invitations for events like birthday parties and developing mood boards for home decor inspiration. One can also animate or modify existing images by giving new prompts, the company said.
