Speaking at the ceremony, Tucci said, “Being a part of Hollywood for 45 years has been an honor and an absolutely exhausting thing. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
Blunt continued, “It’s very difficult to summarize how meaningful this has been to me and that the jugglers who came to speak about me have turned my hair upside down.”
Downey Jr. praised Blunt, saying, “She’s a scene partner you’ll never forget.” He added, “And she’s the kind of wife you can’t begrudge (John Krasinski) for getting off because he’s just as dynamic and it’s impossible not to love this guy.”
Johnson congratulated both the artists. “Congratulations to Stanley and Emily. The time is now! The one word that I think best captures Emily’s mind and her spirit here is ‘present’,” he concluded.
Damon said, “It makes me very happy … the Tucci-Blunt legend continues to grow and evolve in the best possible ways.”
Streep, who has worked closely with Tucci, said, “You can’t even call Stanley a national treasure anymore because I’ve been around the world and the love he’s been showered upon on a really global level… it’s just overwhelming.”
