Mammootty is all set to rock the big screen with his upcoming release Patriot, which is scheduled to release on May 1, 2026. During a conversation ahead of the film’s release, the superstar confirmed that he has a vampire film in his lineup.
Mammootty confirms working on vampire film

When he was further asked if it would surprise the audience, the superstar replied, “It will blow your mind.” The actor was also asked how Dulquer Salmaan had cheated him into playing the character of Muthon in Loca, to which he replied, “How far can he go by cheating me? Now, I am going to cheat him.”
Recently, in an interview, Mammootty had hinted at the possibility of playing a vampire in the upcoming film. Although the superstar did not give away many details, it now appears that the project has been confirmed and is part of his upcoming lineup.
Mammootty’s work front
Mammootty will next be seen in the lead role Patriot. Directed by Mahesh Narayanan, the film tells the story of covert operatives uncovering a massive surveillance conspiracy that turns into a national security emergency, as they race to take down the network before silencing all opposition.
The film, starring Mohanlal in the lead role, marks the reunion of two giants of Malayalam cinema after a decade. Apart from the pair, Patriot also stars Fahadh Faasil as the lead antagonist, starring Kunchacko Boban, Nayanthara, Darshan Rajendran, Rajeev Menon, Revathi and many others in pivotal roles. The film will be released in theaters on May 1, 2026.
Looking ahead, Mammootty has completed shooting for Padayatra directed by veteran filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan. He is currently shooting for Dhanush’s film D55. Additionally, the actor has Mattancherry Mafia, a film with director Nitish Sahdev and another project in his lineup with Cubes Entertainment.
