Malayalam director Shafi died at the age of 56. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Vikram mourned
Malayalam filmmaker Shafi died on Sunday. The 56 -year -old faced stroke earlier this month and was hospitalized since then.

Malayalam filmmaker Shafi died in Kochi at the age of 56 on 26 January. He had a stroke on 16 January and was hospitalized since then. Many famous celebrities, including actors of the Malayalam film industry like Prithviraj Sukumaran and Chian Vikram, condoled and paid tribute to his death on social media.
Shafi was being treated in the neurosurgeical intensive medical unit. Condoling his death, Prithviraj Sukumaran shared a picture of Shafi on Instagram on Sunday and wrote, “Relax peacefully (red heart emoji).”

Vikram shared a hearty post on X, expressing grief over the losing of a dear friend. He remembered his time spent with the late filmmaker and loved the memories shared by him.
His post wrote, “Today, I lost a dear friend and the world lost an incredible storyteller. He was one of the most fun and sensitive souls I have ever seen, someone who in the simplest moments of life Could see beauty. He may not be among us now, but he will always live in those laughter, feelings and memories that he will be peacefully, but never. Will be forgotten. “

Actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan, confirming the Shaif’s death on Facebook, wrote, “Shafi sir has left Hansi and unforgettable stories, which will always be remembered. Tributes.”
Born as MH Rashid, he was widely recognized by his stage name Shafi. He gained fame for the direction of comedy films and made his debut in 2001 under the direction with One Man Show. He directed more than 10 films in his two -decade career.
Some of his remarkable works include Pulwal Kalyanam, Thommanam Makkalum, Decum and Marikondoru Kunjadu. Shafi’s last film as director was Sharafuddin’s 2022 comedy Anandam Parmanandam.
