Malayalam actor accuses colleague Riyaz Khan of sexually abusing him on call
The Malayalam actress who accused Tamil-Malayalam actor Riyaz Khan has alleged that Riyaz sexually harassed her over call.
The Malayalam actress has levelled harassment allegations against Tamil-Malayalam actor Riyaz Khan. In an interview to a Malayalam regional channel, she claimed that Riyaz Khan tried to force her into a sexual relationship over a phone call. Despite her not showing interest, she reportedly asked the actor if he could ‘arrange some women’ for him during his stay in Kochi. The actor had earlier accused veteran actor Siddique of rape.
The actor’s interview in Malayalam roughly translates as, “Recently, a dialogue called ‘Adichi keri vaa’ became quite popular, which was said by an actor (Riyaz Khan). I got a call from the actor at midnight. A photographer shared my phone number with him without my consent. He saw my pictures, took my number and called me.”
She further added, “The man started talking about sex and his sexual interests. He asked if I was interested in sleeping with him. He asked me about my favourite position. This incident happened when I was just 20 years old. I was very shocked after the phone call. I was not able to speak a single word during the call. I wonder how crazy such people are.”
The actor said he never showed any interest. “When I got to know that I was not interested, he said he would be in Kochi for the next nine days, and asked me if I could arrange some women for him,” she said.
Earlier, the Malayalam actor had accused Siddique of sexual misconduct and rape. Following the allegations, Siddique resigned from the post of General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) on August 25.
“Yes. I have submitted my official resignation to the organisation’s president Mohanlal. Since there were allegations against me, I have decided not to continue in the post and have resigned,” he told a television channel.
The female actor had earlier spoken about Siddique in 2019. Now, she has once again shared her ordeal after the Justice Hema Committee report was released recently. The report exposed the practices of casting couch, sexual abuse, pay disparity and lobbying in the Malayalam film industry.
