Madhu Chopra recalled Priyanka’s struggle on Dostan set, says the director was ‘scary’
Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu remembered the challenges facing her daughter on a friendly set. The 2017 film was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Karan Johar.
Madhu Chopra, mother of actor Priyanka Chopra, reminded of the evil nature of director Tarun Manasukhani. The Global Icon, who collaborated with the director on Dostana (2017), was part of the differences with him and was cautious to not disturb them. Chopra’s mother, Madhu, had to face those difficulties during the shooting of the film.
In an interview with Lehran retroMadhu remembered that Akash Pink actor was worried when she fell ill and needed some time from the shoot. Instead of calling Tarun herself, Priyanka asked her mother to inform her, but her sarcastic response inspired Madhu to stand firmly for her daughter.
Remembering the incident, Madhu said, “Tarun, as I know her today, was not the same Tarun. He was a very scary man. One day, Priyanka had a high fever. She asked for a bullet, and I gave her one. She was insisting that she will go to work. But even after an hour, even after an hour, the fever will not be less. I told her that she should not relax and tell me that she should not work. Did not want to be broken.
However, Tarun’s reply, saying that ‘how convenient’ was not good with Madhu. He responded to the director in a harsh voice and said, “If you want him to die on your set, I will send him. But if something happens to him, you will be responsible for it.”
Earlier, in a conversation with Dax Shepherd on his podcast armchair specialist, Priyanka Chopra, he revealed why he started a search for work in America. She said that Anjula Acharia of Desi Hits called her when she was shooting for SAT Khoon Maaf and asked if she would be interested in a music career in America.
Priyanka, who was also looking for a way out of Bollywood, said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I did not have me not to cast me, I had beef with people, I am not good to play that game, so I was tired of politics and I said that I need a break. The talk of this music gave me the opportunity to go to another part of the world, not the films I did not want, but I would need to shave in some clubs and groups of people. This would require groveling and I had worked for a long time till then I did not feel that I wanted to do it. ,
On the work front, Priyanka is currently in India, making a film for SS Rajamouli’s SSMB 29 with Mahesh Babu. The film will allegedly hit theaters in 2028.
